iResize can resize, compress, and save as JPEG at 72dpi the images: GIF, JPEG, PICT, PNG, TIFF, and PSD or, for maximum quality, can resize images and save as PNG
Features:
- New and streamlined interface
- Resize images from as little as 1px up to 9999px
- Easy and fast, drag and drop images or folder of images onto the app window and set the new size (vertical or horizontal)
- Check the compression quality before resizing
- Rename and add sequential numbering to the resized images, and/or
- Add some text (example: -small) at the end of the file name
- Handles accented characters (ü,ç etc.) in the file names
- Localized in English

I confirm iResize does still an excellent job for TIFF to jpg. The visual quality is comparable to what you get in GraphicConverter at 90% jpg quality but for a file size that corresponds to a 67% jpg quality! The only downside is that the resulting image is darker than the original (no issue when resizing from jpg to jpg).

Although iResize exists for many many years, I didn't realize that it does such an excellent job, converting and optimizing images even in TIF format. Very pleasant surprise.
Most optimizers and converters don't accept TIF. iResize is a rare highest quality piece of software that does what others don't. Thank You Daniele!
